Katy Duhigg is running for the State Senate because she isn't afraid to stand up to the big insurance companies that have stacked the deck against regular people. She knows what it's like to be pushed to the brink with sky-high health care bills and months-long waits to see your medical provider. She'll fight to lower prescription costs, protect those with pre-existing conditions, and work tirelessly to ensure more New Mexicans receive access to quality health care.
Katy Duhigg is a small business owner and knows how the pandemic has crippled the economy. She'll be one of the Senate's biggest champions of New Mexico's small businesses. Katy will be a watch-dog to make sure incentive and stimulus funds get into the hands of those who truly need it. She knows that we must invest in job development and training. And, she knows that we must make our economy less reliant on oil and gas, and she'll help make NM a leader in renewable energy.
Katy Duhigg is a mom and understands the critical role public education is to our community and economy. New Mexico is in a budget crisis and politicians will be looking for ways to make cuts. We can count on Katy to not only protect our schools from budget cuts, but rather to invest more in them. Katy will work hand-in-hand with our educators to help our kids make up for lost time.
Katy Duhigg has dedicated her career to holding officials accountable and making government more transparent and ethical. A consumer protection attorney and Albuquerque City Clerk, she's protected consumers from unethical businesses and held governmental officials to higher standards.
